DBD Mobile devs seemingly respond to concerns game is shutting down

Dead By Daylight has a huge playerbase, and 2024 has been an excellent year for the main experience on consoles and PC. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Mobile version that has been fairly inactive. A lot of fans are worried the game could be taken down, but the DBD Mobile devs have seemingly responded to the rumors of shutting down with a positive outlook rather than a dreary one.

There is a lot for Dead By Daylight fans on console and PC to anticipate. Right now players are able to enjoy 2v8 mode with a lot of Bloodpoints on offer, and BeHaviour has responded to claims it will become “permanent” in a future iteration. Once 2v8 has passed, fans can then look forward to Chapter 34 for which The Houndmaster and Taurie Cain perks have been revealed.

While the remainder of Year 9 and the upcoming Year 10 is exciting for the core DBD experience, fans of the Mobile version can also possibly be optimistic about 2025.

Dead By Daylight Mobile devs seemingly respond to shutting down rumors

On the Dead By Daylight Mobile subreddit, user plutino has shared a message reportedly from support on the official DBDMobile Discord to one of their friends. The message is in response to whether the game is shutting down, and it reads as follows:

“Hello! Thank you for your message and for your dedication to Dead by Daylight Mobile. We understand your concerns about the lack of updates and delays in new content.

Our team is currently working on several important changes and improvements that take time. We strive to ensure that each new content is high-quality and interesting for players, and sometimes this may take longer than we planned.

We also want to inform you that the development of the game will be transferred to a new team that will focus on creating new content and improving the gameplay. We hope that this will lead to more regular updates and innovations in the future.

Regarding the extension of the combat gap until March 2025, this decision was made to give the new team time to develop and implement new features, as well as to ensure the game runs more stable. We understand that this may be disappointing, but please rest assured that we are doing everything we can to improve your gaming experience.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.”

This response can’t be found on the Discord as it’s reportedly a message rather than a post. It’s possible it could be fake and the game does shut down, but Plutino claims it was a “response to one of my friends,” and there’s nothing about the OP’s profile that is suspicious or has a history of posting false material.

As of right now, Dead By Daylight Mobile is neither officially shutting down or switching teams. Right now the game’s future appears uncertain, but we hope there are plans for next year rather than a complete shutdown.
